All abooaarrd!
We went to Disneyland the third week in August, 2006 --just before my son turned 14 (he turned 14 in Disneyland :). I loved it--and after almost four days in the House of the Mouse now realize I could've skipped Universal Studios on our last day in So Cal and gone to the beach. Thank goodness we had done so prior to our Disney trek. Anyway, it was a perfect last night in the original Disneyland--the fireworks/multi media show just rocked. Then a run over to Tomorrowland--which looks so neat when lit up at night--to wage multiple battles on Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters.
Our last moments in Disneyland were nearly magical after we caught the the very last monorail ride bound for The Grand Californian Hotel and for the night. We had to run to catch it.
We were ushered into the very first compartment which had room only for us and an "engineer." He was pretty down in the mouth as his stint he told us--like that of the Monorail itself--was to be up that very night. Until Christmas, the monorail would undergo software upgrades and not be a part of the Park--but our car alone would never be back--it was bound for Disneyland France.
...as seen from the Sun Wheel.
Also on the extreme right is the Grand Californian Hotel--an unfortunate and very expensive lesson learned. I'll never sleep in the Park again-- because for a quarter of the price I can do so--with easier access--across the street.

Disney at it's best...
All these great fireworks shots were taken by my spouse.
Soon to change back to the original...
Chris spied a girl with this hat on whilst in line for the Haunted Mansion. One like it was soon his.
Very pretty at night--the revamped for this year Space Mountain and the well worth seeing "Honey, I Shrunk The Audience."
OMG, so much fun!--and a link to a free photo to email yourself at ride's end.
The actual one from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest--which Johnny Depp perched upon.
I was way too thrilled for a 46-y.o. woman.
Davy Jones Chest, Locket, & Pipe and Tia Dalma's (Voodoo Lady) Locket.
This is the same image that adorns the wall (with others like Capt. Barbosa) at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
There are three animatronic Jack Sparrow/ Johnny Depp's within The Pirates attraction. Very cool & fun.
