The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman & actor Andrew Lincoln talk about how the graphic novel will translate to the small screen and what kind of story it is.

PILOT/EP 101 – “Days Gone By”
Rick searches for his family after emerging from a coma into a world terrorized by the walking dead. Morgan and Duane, whom he meets
along the way, help teach Rick the new rules for survival.

EP 102 – “Guts”
Rick unknowingly causes a group of survivors to be trapped by walkers. The group dynamic devolves from accusations to violence, as Rick must confront an enemy far more dangerous than the undead.

EP 103 – “Tell It To The Frogs”
Rick makes a decision to go back to Atlanta to retrieve the bag of guns and save a man’s life. Lori and Shane must deal with the surprising return of someone they thought was dead.

EP 104 – “Vatos”
Rick’s mission to Atlanta is jeopardized when things go awry. Jim becomes unhinged in camp.

EP 105 – “Wildfire”
Rick leads the group to the CDC after the attack. Jim must make a terrible life and death decision.

EP 106 – “TS-19”
Rick and the group are allowed into the CDC, by a strange doctor. But all is not what it seems in their newfound haven.

If all you want are superb costume and makeup moments of shuffling zombies with their faces falling off and their incessant need to eat, you can find that here. And because it’s on cable, it’s a veritable exploding-head carnival thanks to everything from high-powered rifles to baseball bats and pick axes to arrows.  Yet people who hate horror and gore should still give Dead a chance to unfold its boldly different story. Some beautiful images here, guaranteed to make you wonder what The Tourist is about. Watching the video one cannot but be impressed at how Johnny Depp slips into the skin of this nebbishy-seeming character without effort. I mean, he looks just as Depp does--the gorgeous Johnny Depp we know and love-- yet with his gestures and vocal tone he conveys someone else completely: Frank Taylor, ordinary guy--or is he? Can't wait to find out!

AMC's newest original series, "The Walking Dead," will premiere on Halloween night, Sunday, October 31 at 10 PM ET. The Sunday night series will debut with a 90-minute premiere episode, airing at 10 PM, October 31st. Subsequent episodes will be one-hour long presentations.

"The Walking Dead" is based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. The six-episode series tells the story of life following a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln ("Love Actually," "Teachers," "Strike Back"), traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Jon Bernthal ("The Pacific," "The Ghost Writer") plays Rick's sheriff's department partner before the apocalypse, Shane Walsh, and Sarah Wayne Callies ("Prison Break"), is Rick's wife, Lori. Supporting cast include Laurie Holden ("The Shield"), Jeffrey DeMunn, Chandler Riggs and Steven Yeun.

Three-time Academy Award-nominee Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption," "The Green Mile") serves as writer, director and executive producer. Chairwoman of Valhalla Motion Pictures, Gale Anne Hurd ("The Terminator," "Aliens," "Armageddon," "The Incredible Hulk"), creator of the original comic series, Robert Kirkman, and David Alpert from Circle of Confusion serve as Executive Producer. Charles "Chic" Eglee ("Dexter," "The Shield," "Dark Angel") and Jack LoGiudice ("Sons of Anarchy," "Resurrection Blvd") are Co-Executive Producer.

The Making of The Walking Dead Documentary - Part 1 [HQ]

The Walking Dead series premiere is still three weeks away, but you can get a detailed look at what went into the AMC production right now with this new 17-minute behind-the-scenes documentary. Hear from Executive Producers Frank Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd about what attracted them to the comic book series, and why AMC proved the perfect network to bring it to life.

Learn from Production Designer Greg Melton what it takes to turn downtown Atlanta into an apocalyptic wasteland, and from Consulting Producer and Special FX Make-Up Designer Greg Nicotero what makes The Walking Dead's walkers so unique.

The Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard, meanwhile, share their amazement over how true to the series the television show is, and how the actors' physical similarities to their sketches inspired the Comic Con poster.

The cast weigh in on the series as well, with Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Jon Bernthal (Shane), Laurie Holden (Andrea) and Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori) all praising the strength of the ensemble. "When we had our first group scene," Bernthal reflects, "I just looked looked around, I was like, 'Oh my God. There is not a weak link in this group.'"
