Dexter: Episode 3.09 - About Last Night
Dexter starts to fear that Miguel may have strayed from the newly taught Code. This concern starts to put a strain on their friendship. And Dexter doesn’t get a reprieve from this at Rita’s either. Sylvia, noting how Miguel is never at home anymore, tells Rita that she is now convinced that Miguel is having an affair. Rita decides to confront Miguel about his indiscretions. Meanwhile, Anton is confirmed to have been taken by the Skinner, sending Debra into a furious search, not only for Anton, but also for his potential killer.
Rita's intention to confront Miguel about his alleged infidelity has an impact on his friendship with Dexter as he becomes suspicious about Miguel's honesty; Debra pulls out all the stops to locate Anton after it is believed that he's been abducted by the Skinner.
All you folks complaining that "Dexter" has lost it's mojo this season, what d'ya have to say now? The entire episode, "About Last Night" was a tense race from start to finish.
Debra's (Jennifer Carpenter) "CI" paramour Anton (David Ramsay) has been snatched by the Skinner and we are graphically shown early on that he is indeed being skinned. Deb and partner Quinn (Desmond Harrington) find The Skinner, tree trimmer George King, but have nothing to charge him with and will have to let him go by day's end--and he plans to go back and do more skinning. They frantically work every angle they can to try to get The Skinner to break but nothing is happening.
Meanwhile, Dexter's suspicions that Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits) may have done great bodily harm to D.A. Ellen Wolf (Anne Ramsay) are confirmed when Dexter goes to the place he told Miguel is perfect to dump bodies--the cemetery, in graves that have been freshly dug awaiting the lowering of a coffin. Dexter finds the beaten, strangled, stabbed body of the missing DA and he decides to teach Miguel a lesson about never violating the Code of Harry, which Miguel did when he murdered an innocent person.
Dexter now realizes that Miguel lied to him about the murder, lied about ensuring his trust (with a shirt faked with cow's blood to look like the one from the Freebo murder), and through his interaction with Rita pretty much confirming that he'd been using Dexter all along.
I'm confident that the next/last three episodes of Season 3 of Dexter are going to spin your head around. Dexter is facing so many problems that he did not have when he kept his world small and manageable by keeping people out. Now he's got to deal with a monster of his own creation and the fact that said monster can take Dexter down with him. You'd best strap yourself in tightly. Looks like it's going to be a fierce ride to the finish.

"GO YOUR OWN WAY"
Dexter feels like he’s making a deal with the devil when he feigns civility around Miguel after his duplicitous ways. Dexter finds himself in a series of chess-like moves against his former friend, all while hoping that Miguel doesn’t get the upper hand on him. Meanwhile, Dexter watches helplessly as Miguel draws Rita closer through a wonderful wedding gift. Debra, now back with Anton after his close call with the Skinner, wonders if her relationship with Anton is worth putting her career in jeopardy. After all, is it smart for everyone to know that she is dating a former confidential informant?
